1. Introduction
Calculator ("the app", "we", "us") is a multi-function calculator that includes a standard/scientific calculator and a set of converter tools (unit, currency, date/time, health, finance, and more). This Privacy Policy explains what data we process, why, and the choices available to you.
Core principle: most of the data you enter is processed and stored locally on your device and is not sent to our servers. We do not sell your personal data.
2. Data processed and stored locally on your device (not uploaded)
- Calculation history and tool results (calculator, percentage, discount, tip, loan, savings, GPA, and others).
- Personalization settings: language, theme, background, number format, measurement units.
- Custom backgrounds: when you choose an image through the Android photo picker, the image is cropped and stored in the app's private storage; it is not uploaded or shared.
- Ovulation / Menstrual Cycle tool data: the cycle dates and reminder settings you enter are stored locally to perform calculations and schedule on-device notifications. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us or any third party.
You can delete this data by removing individual entries/history within the app, clearing the app's data in system settings, or uninstalling the app.
3. Data collected through third-party services
The app uses Google SDKs to operate, analyze, and improve the product:
- a) Firebase Analytics (Google) — collects pseudonymous usage and interaction data to understand user behavior and preferences, for example: theme-change events, background-change events, and which converter tools are opened, together with analytics identifiers (such as the app instance ID) and basic device/event information. It does not collect the contents of your calculations.
- b) Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — collects crash reports: stack traces, device type/state, operating-system and app versions, to diagnose and fix problems (applies to released builds).
- c) Firebase Remote Config (Google) — fetches remote configuration to enable/disable features and run interface experiments; it may store an experiment identifier on the device.
- d) Advertising — Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads: the app displays ads and may process the Advertising ID along with ad-interaction data. Where required (EU/EEA, UK, and other applicable regions), we present a consent form (Google UMP / IAB TCF) before using personalized advertising. You can change your choice at any time via the consent option in the app.
- e) Currency conversion: when you use the Currency Converter, the app sends a request to ExchangeRate-API (open access endpoint open.er-api.com) to retrieve the latest exchange rates and caches them on your device. Only the base currency code (e.g. "USD") is sent; no personal data is included. We display the required attribution ("Rates By Exchange Rate API") within the app and do not redistribute the rate data. ExchangeRate-API's terms and privacy policy: https://www.exchangerate-api.com/terms and https://www.exchangerate-api.com/privacy-policy.
Data processed by Google's services is handled in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. For ad personalization controls, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
4. Permissions and why we use them
- Internet / network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): load exchange rates, remote configuration, analytics/crash reporting, and advertising.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): send reminders for the Ovulation / Menstrual Cycle tool (only if you enable them).
- Run after restart (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): reschedule your reminders after the device reboots.
- Photo access: uses the Android Photo Picker so you can choose an image as a background; the app only receives the image you select and does not scan your whole gallery.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID): used by the advertising SDK to serve and measure ads.
5. Sensitive data (health)
The Ovulation / Menstrual Cycle tool processes reproductive-health-related information (cycle dates). This information is stored only on your device, used for calculations and reminders; we do not collect, transmit, or share it.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers listed in Section 3 (Google Firebase / AdMob and the exchange-rate provider) to the extent necessary to provide the corresponding functionality. Advertising partners may process the Advertising ID to serve and measure ads.
7. Data retention and deletion
- Local data persists until you delete it in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
- Analytics, crash, and advertising data are retained by Google according to Google's policies; you can reset or limit them through your device settings (see Section 8).
8. Your choices
- Reset / limit the Advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Advertising consent (where applicable): change it through the in-app consent form.
- Notifications: turn them off in the app or in system settings.
- Delete data: clear history/entries in the app or clear the app's data.
9. Children
The app is not directed to children under [13] and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect data. Data transmitted to Google services is encrypted (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
